At the start of the Messiaen-Tage, the Görlitz public has the special opportunity to get to know the festival and its organizers during a pop-up exhibition in the heart of the Görlitz Old Town.
Visitors are invited to spontaneously connect with those involved in the festival, ask questions, and gain insights into the Messiaen-Tage, while the exhibition itself provides background information on the festival, the person Messiaen, and his captivity at Stalag VIII A Görlitz.
Between the exhibition and the performance, a space for encounter is created where the audience can move freely, explore, and start conversations.
This open format is accompanied from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM by a vocal quartet, whose performance adds a musical dimension to the exhibition.
In a concert for vocal quartet, singers will interpret selected works by Olivier Messiaen as well as other compositions to familiarize the audience with the sound of Messiaen in the city right from the start of the Messiaen-Tage. This concert is the result of the long-standing cooperation between the Meetingpoint Memory Messiaen and the EuropaChorAkademie Görlitz.
