An acclaimed Czech alternative band that has long been reaching new generations of listeners, now in Turnov.
Bratři Orffové perform only sporadically, yet the audience's interest remains undiminished. Even more than a decade after the release of the album Šero, which won both an Anděl Award and the Apollo music critics' award for best album of 2013, the band continues to find new listeners, and their work continues to resonate across generations. And perhaps, by 2026, new tracks will be added to their song collection.
Bratři Orffové have been active since 2002. The band's name refers to the pioneers of Czechoslovak electronic music, the Orm brothers, as well as to so-called Orff musical instruments. The lineup has changed over the years; today it consists of singer and guitarist Ivan Gajdoš, guitarist Lukáš Novotný, trumpeter Libor Martiník, drummer Petr Odstrčil, bassist Břetislav Koláček, and keyboardist and synthesizer player Zdeněk Henych. The release of their debut, Bingriwingri, in 2005, was hailed by the media as an event on the local alternative scene. In 2023, the label Minority Records reissued both of the band's records as remastered vinyl editions.
