They call it "The Tenebrae Effect": Members of Tenebrae, one of the world's best choirs, and their director Nigel Short have developed a workshop format for amateur singers that provides powerful impetus for further development in choral singing in a short time.
Participants are musically challenged and supported, while also gaining insights into some of the musical and technical aspects that characterize Tenebrae's distinctive sound and interpretations. As part of the Lausitz Festival, Tenebrae is offering two of these workshops, one in Görlitz and one in Forst. Singers who want to be inspired and further develop their art can expect an evening that is as exciting as it is instructive.
Participation is free.
Experience has shown that the workshop is particularly beneficial for singers with choral experience. It is also helpful if participants are familiar with sheet music or can confidently sight-read. Sheet music will be provided on the day of the workshop but can also be requested in advance. The workshop lasts approximately two hours; the number of active participants is limited to a maximum of 40.
During the workshop, pieces will be rehearsed together. The pieces will be announced shortly.
The workshop will be held in English. Translation into German will be provided if needed.
