The International Night for Bats at Valdštejn Castle was prepared by the members of the Czech Association of Nature Conservationists CHIROPTERO in cooperation with the administration of Valdštejn Castle, the town of Turnov and the administration of the Bohemian Paradise Protected Landscape Area, under the auspices of Euro Bats. It will take place again after a break of several years on Saturday, 5 September 2026 from 20:30 to 24 hours, visitors will have an extraordinary opportunity to get acquainted on the walls of Valdštejn Castle with its nocturnal inhabitants. The programme includes demonstrations of bat research methods, a lecture with slide show, and an introduction to the reasons and methods of bat conservation. The care of permanently handicapped bats will also be presented, as well as live bats that we manage to catch during the event. Small braves will get the chance to release smaller species back into the wild. There will also be a fed bat (a throwing target with a hole instead of a muzzle) for the kids, or a chance to have your picture taken in the form of a bat. Of course, you can also buy promotional materials with bats. Each visitor will receive a commemorative ticket.
