The end of the summer semester is approaching, and with it, the traditional student competition Ještěd f Kleci, organized annually by students in collaboration with the Faculty of Arts and Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec. This year's 36th edition offers a varied program from June 17th to 19th, connecting architecture, art, public space, sports, film, and music.
The program kicks off on Wednesday, June 17th, at Lesní koupaliště
The evening will open with an informal meeting of students, teachers, and the public, followed by a lecture by juror Kateřina Vídeňová, a student performance, and a concert by the band Letmo.
The Thursday program on June 18th will offer events at Linserky
Archirun with Jan Koníček, a pop-up event prepared in collaboration with the creative collective Fúzia, and an evening debate with the jury. The day will conclude with a screening of the film 'Vymyslíme nový sport' by authors Demuthová and Štěpařová.
The culmination of the competition will take place on Friday, June 19th, in building F of the Faculty of Arts and Architecture
Visitors will have the opportunity to visit open studios, attend lectures by guest studios of Pavla Sceranková, Dušan Záhoranský, and the Jinjan studio, and subsequently be present for the ceremonial announcement of this year's results. The evening will continue with a traditional afterparty at Bar Papír with concerts by the bands Angst and Svaz, and a DJ program until the early morning hours.
A Saturday communal breakfast at Bar Papír will symbolically close JFK, featuring a meeting of students, teachers, alumni, and faculty guests.
The winners of this year's edition will be decided by an expert jury composed of prominent personalities from the contemporary architectural and art scene. The invitation was accepted by visual artist Anna Fiedlerová, architect and researcher Max Mohl, architect and pedagogue Kateřina Vídeňová, visual artist Jiří Pitrmuc, and architect Jonáš Krýzl.
Ještěd f Kleci has long been one of the most significant student events at the TUL Faculty of Arts and Architecture. Beyond presenting student work, it creates a space for meeting, sharing experiences, and discussing the current state of architecture, art, and education.
We look forward to meeting you in Liberec!
