The "Maier-Hauff//DeRungs" project unites the creative energies of two outstanding musicians in a web of jazz, electronica, and sound design. Julian Maier-Hauff is considered one of the most intuitive musicians of the present day. As an artistic visionary (including work with the Elbphilharmonie and the Münchner Rundfunkorchester) and a sought-after studio guest for acts like Alice Merton or Mine, he switches effortlessly between synthesizers, drum machines, trumpet, and saxophone. As one of the few artists in the electronic music scene, Julian Maier-Hauff works completely freely. All sets are improvised, and every note heard is created in the moment. Opposite him stands Lukas DeRungs: the accomplished pianist and composer was recently awarded the Landesjazzpreis Baden-Württemberg and nominated for the Deutscher Jazzpreis.
"Maier-Hauff//DeRungs" is far more than an experiment; it is a journey through musical galaxies. By combining analog instruments and innovative digital elements, a dynamic is created that leaves room for spontaneous improvisation. From pulsating grooves to lyrical soundscapes, two artistic visions merge here into an extraordinary interplay of the highest level. It is a homage to the transformative power of music, which appeals to senses and emotions alike and takes the audience on a captivating journey.
