This year's edition of Museum Night under Ještěd in Jablonec will be held primarily in the spirit of celebrating the 160th anniversary of Jablonec nad Nisou's elevation to a city. The program will thus offer not only unusual night-time experiences but also a look back at the history and transformation of this region.
On Friday, May 22, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., the region's cultural institutions will open their doors to visitors for one night only, offering special tours and programs. Under the shared motto "Museums connect a divided world," they will once again become places where generations, cultures, and experiences connect, and where common understanding can be found. Museum Night is more than just a typical visit – its unique atmosphere opens up a space for sharing stories, meeting people, and discovering different perspectives on the world. The Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou will offer creative workshops for families with children, featuring bracelet making or sandblasting glasses with Jablonec motifs (until 10 p.m.). Exhibitions as part of the International Triennial of Glass and Jewellery Jablonec 2026 will be open, as well as permanent exhibitions that you can explore with the "Jablonec nad Nisou from Beginnings to the Present" quiz. The opening hours for the Museum of Glass and Jewellery in Jablonec nad Nisou during Museum Night under Ještěd are from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. The accompanying program ends at 10 p.m. Admission is free. The event loosely builds on International Museum Day, which is commemorated annually on May 18, and is part of the Festival of Museum Nights. Participating in Museum Night under Ještěd 2026 are: ● Liberec: Galerie Lázně Liberec, MUZA | North Bohemian Museum, Technical Museum, Automobile Museum (in the Technical Museum complex), Linserka ● Vratislavice nad Nisou: Ferdinand Porsche Birth House ● Jablonec nad Nisou: Museum of Glass and Jewellery, Kultura-Jablonec (Scheybal House, Town Hall), Municipal Gallery MY, Nisa Factory ● Kořenov: Cog Railway Museum and Locomotive Depot.
