A lecture by traveler and translator Zdeněk Lyčka.
A four-member Danish-Czech expedition, BIG ICE EXPEDITION 2011, covered nearly 600 km on skis across the Greenland ice cap in 28 days, in the coldest April ever recorded in this part of the world. The lecture about the journey through the white wilderness recalls boyish adventure expeditions, but it does not hide the fact that, despite today's near-perfect safety measures, one's life can be at risk. In 2012, the publishing house Argo released the book "Skiing Across Greenland / A Report from Places Where Not Even Arctic Foxes Say Goodnight," based on Zdeněk Lyčka's expedition diary.
