The traditional Rothenburg Summer Festival is one of the largest summer events in Upper Lusatia. Its roots lie in the historic "August Shooting", which was held at the beginning of August in honor of the Saxon ruler Augustus the Strong.
Today, the festival attracts visitors from near and far to the town. For three days, the center of Rothenburg transforms into a large fairground full of music, encounters, and entertainment. The musical program takes place on the market square. On the festival grounds, you will also find rides, numerous food stalls with regional and international specialties, as well as a varied range of activities for families with children.
Every year, the Summer Festival thus combines tradition, fairground atmosphere, and a cultural program, attracting guests from the whole region to Rothenburg.

Sunday 02.08. from 2:00 PM the traditional festival parade, from 8:00 PM RebelTell turn up the heat! (a successful mix of Schlager and Rock 'n' Roll) and at 10:00 PM there will be the big fireworks display for the "finale"
