Choir meets live electronics meets light projection meets steel
EuropaChorAkademie
Rehearsal: Catie Leigh Laszewski
Kristjan Järvi, Conductor
Claudia Reh, Projections
An absolute festival highlight: against the breathtaking backdrop of the bucket-wheel excavator in Hagenwerder, the acclaimed choral work "I Eat the Sun and Drink the Rain" by German composer Sven Helbig will resound as night falls. The composer's live electronics merge with the intense interpretation by the EuropaChorAkademie under the baton of star conductor Kristjan Järvi. Accompanying the poetic texts, minimalist sound sculptures, and haunting choral melodies of Sven Helbig are the live light projections by Dresden artist Claudia Reh. She effectively brings the colossus of the bucket-wheel excavator to life for this one night: an audiovisual experience between spirituality, technology, and nature.
