Six gentlemen in a classic lineup accompany the singer Jana Jiroušková. They play primarily well-known pieces of New Orleans jazz and compositions that have been forgotten for decades. Their concerts are an adventurous journey back in time to the threshold of the 1910s and 1920s – that era when jazz echoed from every pub and every street in New Orleans.
The Hot Licks combine the original "vintage sound" of acoustic jazz with the modern expression of Dixieland.
They play up to 80 concerts annually and, over the course of their existence, have performed in countries such as Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Latvia, and many others. Their repertoire includes the most famous Dixieland hits as well as nearly forgotten rarities. In addition to their typical rebellious outfit – striped shirts, red suspenders, and sneakers – they sometimes also appear in polished patent leather shoes and tied bow ties. But the music always remains the same: juicy, time-tested Dixieland – timeless classics in fresh attire.
