For interested 9-13 year olds, motivated and active children with an interest in natural sciences, especially physics and technology, who can leave their mobile phone in their backpack and want to develop their own thinking and intuition in an exploratory way. Where the camp will take place: In the safe environment of the Pivovarská Primary School in Jablonec n. N. and in the adjacent sports ground. In a classroom with state-of-the-art equipment. The children will have a sufficient number of work sets for individual work and small group work in which they can try out teamwork. How we work: We encourage self-confidence, technical independence, experimental courage and active exploration. We treat children individually and encourage their talents. That's why we also have assistants to advise and help those who wouldn't dare to experiment on their own or need "second hands". The camp will help children to discover and verify their own abilities and to orient themselves towards future studies and careers. What will happen at the camp: each day will focus on a theme. We will work in small groups. We will work in smaller groups and in some activities on our own. We will work according to a pre-prepared and rehearsed program, but also improvise according to the situation, the children's individual abilities and abilities and their interest. - Exploring Mars - LEGO models and scientific research - Hands-on day without a computer We will create models of load-bearing structures, simple machines (lever, pulley, inclined plane) and gravity paths with our own hands, mostly using wood, skewers, paper, cardboard, string, glue and paper clips - working in pairs. - Activities with digital technology and electronics We will digitally measure and evaluate e.g. the pressure in a balloon when inflating, the temperature of water at the bottom of the "pond", the strength of a human hair and the movement of a magnetic pendulum, mainly with PASCO experimental digital kits, we will also involve sensors and applications in mobile phones - Physical research expedition around Jablonec and its surroundings Who will lead the camp: the leader and 1 to 2 assistants. The main leader is an experienced lecturer, a graduate of mathematics and physics faculty with many years of experience in education, industry and management.
