Two storytellers, Anne Swoboda and Meike Kreim, and a musician, Marc Winkler, will be stopping off in Zittau for the 4th Oberlausitzer Märchensommer. On this evening, they will tell, play and make music about the big questions of our existence. Myths and fairy tales have always centred around life and death and tell of how people struggle with both. The tales from Africa and Asia show how people master their lives, how they change their destiny and even cheat death. They fight for their lives and the myths and fairy tales tell us what it takes to do so. He has to muster courage, perseverance, cunning and belief in the impossible. These stories are deeply rooted in human knowledge and yet are more relevant than ever. In an amusing way, the artists tell their stories freely with objects, paper and well-travelled rhythms. Marc Winkler will transport us to distant continents in the blink of an eye with his sonorous, rousing guitar music and envelop us, our audience and our storytelling theatre with the appropriate musical ambience. Join us and celebrate life with us!
