Wolfram Huschke is a highly sensitive, technically brilliant cellist with an incredible imagination, with a tremendous stylistic range whose shades and stark contrasts he knows how to summarise in a few bars without you noticing the change immediately; someone who knows how to communicate his enthusiasm for music ...
and his indescribable pleasure in dealing with it in a captivating way and in many different ways; a man who has wit and charm and whose flirtatious mixture of shy flirtation and daredevil reserve, of charming embarrassment and pure eroticism, whimsical cosiness and cheerful seriousness probably captivates everyone without exception.
In all his music - whether for cello, chamber music ensemble or orchestra - it is inner images, films and visions that drive him, move him and lead him to the sounds that should reach his audience as vividly as a story, with or without words.
His joy of discovery with the cello is the source of his joy in and for music - despite all the necessary discipline in daily practice.
He began his classical cello training at the age of five with Professor Brunhard Böhme, who accompanied him until the end of his four-year boarding school period at the Schloss Belvedere Special School of Music.
During his studies with Prof. Julius Berger in Saarbrücken and Prof. Dankwart Gahl at the Mozarteum Salzburg, he developed new ideas and compositional forms on his own musical path.
Personally developed forms of expression with the electric cello in combination with modern electronics as well as the resulting individual sound worlds are an integral part of his concerts and performances. In addition, his solo collaborations with orchestras - whether as an interpreter of classical cello concertos or in performances of his own orchestral works - are always a particular highlight of his concert activities.
He plays a beautiful master cello by violin maker Eduard Schwen as well as an electric cello by Zeta.
"If the soul had strings, they would be cello strings." - Wolfram Huschke
