Crime comedy with puppets by Joseph Kesselring | Ages 14 and up
Advance ticket sales start: June 09, 2026
German translation by Uwe B. Carstensen | Guest performance by the Deutsch-Sorbische Volkstheater Bautzen
Twelve corpses in the cellar! That is the proud tally of sisters Abby and Martha Brewster. The two charming older ladies are extremely popular in their village among neighbors and peers, as they are charity personified!
What no one suspects, however, is that the two pursue an extremely murderous hobby. They send elderly, single gentlemen to the grave via poisoned elderberry wine – in order to "bring them closer to God."
During a visit, their nephew Mortimer accidentally finds a corpse in the apartment and discovers what the two ladies are up to. Then his long-lost brother Jonathan, himself a serial killer on the run from the police, appears. The entanglements and absurd complications begin to unfold...
The arguably most famous crime comedy of all time is staged as a fast-paced interplay of hand and muppet-style puppets that will literally make a person "break into a sweat."
This is a continuous multi-day event
