Heidi Benneckenstein "Mein Leben in einer Neonazi-Familie"
Theater der Jungen Welt, Leipzig
Mobile play in the classroom (closed performance)
In the early 1990s, in the deepest Bavarian province. Heidi grows up in a family that appears unremarkable and middle-class on the outside. But appearances are deceptive: Heidi's father is a staunch neo-Nazi who regularly sends her to right-wing holiday camps, uses a handphone instead of a mobile phone and considers authority more important than affection. For the first 18 years of her life, Heidi only knows this reality. Her youth consists of neo-Nazi concerts, binge drinking and fights. At some point, the right-wing singer-songwriter Felix appears in her circle of friends and the two become closer. Slowly, Heidi's world view begins to crumble. But getting out is dangerous.
A German girl describes the everyday life of neo-Nazis in Germany in an unvarnished way. An insider's report that encourages people to go their own way despite all the obstacles and dangers.
