GIRL WAR - The contributing authors, producers, and actors say that Girl War is the most successful and most performed play in the Czech Republic. Its appeal lies primarily in the lightness of the genre, the exaggeration, the themes used, and the cast. The author of the comedy is František Ringo Čech. He wrote it in 1986 and the comedy has been performed ever since, with audiences coming back to see it again and again. "I wrote The Girl's War to do justice to the Czech nation. It's about its style of humor and the areas it touches on, like eroticism and politics. Plus, it's a relaxing genre where we bring a feast of the most beautiful women our impoverished homeland has to offer. The success of The Girl's War is evident in the full halls across our country," says the author of this crazy comedy, which is based on an old fairy tale by Alois Jirásek.
