THE GIRL'S WAR - The contributing authors, producers, and actors claim that The Girl's War is the most successful and most frequently performed play in the Czech Republic. Its appeal lies primarily in the lightness of the genre, the exaggeration, the themes used, and the cast. The author of the comedy is František Ringo Čech. He wrote it in 1986, and the comedy has been performed ever since, with audiences returning again and again to see it. "I wrote The Girl's War to do justice to the Czech nation. It’s about its kind of humor and the areas it touches upon, such as erotica and politics. Furthermore, it is a relaxing genre in which we present a feast of the most beautiful women our impoverished homeland has to offer. The success of The Girl's War is reflected in the full halls all over our country," says the author of this zany comedy, which is based on an old fairy tale by Alois Jirásek.
