Opening of the exhibition featuring remarkable sculptures and paintings by Ladislav Vlna, named after one of his sculptures "Swarm". The work of Ladislav Vlna stands in the tradition of classical European sculpture. His work shows a deep knowledge of the figure, anatomy, and matter, as well as a conscious dialogue with the history of sculpture - from the ancient understanding of the body to the dramatic physical energy of Michelangelo and the existential positions of 20th-century modern sculpture. However, Vlna does not quote or repeat this tradition. He translates it into a contemporary, raw, and personal language. Ladislav Vlna is also known for his metallurgical paintings, in which fire plays a major role. These works are not created through classical painting, but through the controlled effect of heat on a metal surface. Here, fire replaces the brush and oxidation becomes the color medium. Every temperature change creates a new pattern of light, shadow, and color reaction of the metal. In the musical part of the opening, we will hear guitarist and singer Tom Braun from Děčín. The opening is part of the Varnsdorf City Festival.
