In the chaos of the Thirty Years' War, a mysterious soldier appears in a secluded Protestant village. Silent, gaunt, his face disfigured by a scar. The stranger claims to be the heir to a long-abandoned manor and can produce a document confirming his claim. To the great displeasure of the village community. However, the stranger does everything in his power to find happiness here. Yet to achieve his goals, he will not even shy away from the impossibility of an arranged marriage with the daughter of a wealthy farmer. For anyone who has come this far will soon consider anything possible.
